As soon as you have created your online course (see How can I create online courses for an Academy) you can start adding content / lectures.
Schoox gives you a high degree of freedom on how to add lectures into a course. You can add lectures either by uploading your own files, by using web content or by using content from your personal or the public content library on Schoox.
To add lectures you have to go to the course administration panel (from the Training tab, select All Courses and then Manage Course associated with the course you want) and select Edit Lectures.
From the toolbar that appears on the Edit Lecture page you can add lectures with several ways.
1. From Library :
By clicking on the "Add lecture" image you will be driven to your Academy Library on Schoox. A block at the bottom accommodates the lectures that already exist and an open session allows you to add new lectures by using content you have in your Academy Library with drag & drop.
The session with the block remains and follows you until you click on save or cancel.
2. Uploading Files
By clicking on images "Upload Video", "Upload Documents", "Upload Scorm", "Upload Presentation" you can upload a video file, a SCORM file a document (doc, docx, pdf) or a presentation (ppt, pptx).
After clicking on the preferable image a popup window will appear. You can edit the Title of the file, the Description and add some tags. You can also select the course you want to add the file to.
Please Note: When you upload a file as a lecture the file will also be stored into your personal library in private mode so that you can reuse it again.
3. Using Web Content
By clicking on images "Import from Web" you can also upload web content like YouTube, Vimeo or TED videos, slideshare presentations or any web page. For the most popular content sites like YouTube, Vimeo and Slideshare we keep full track of the learner's progress and provide the instructor with analytic data about the behavior of the leaner on the lecture.
When you click on the "Import from Web" image a colorbox pops up and asks for the URL. Give in the field the desired URL or the embed code and click on Fetch.
Then a popup window will appear. You can edit the Title of the lecture, the Description and add some tags. You can also select the course you want to add the file to.
5. Using Schoox's Bookmarking Tool
To use this very powerful feature you have first to have the bookmarking tool added to your Bookmarks Bar. Learn how to add the bookmarking tool onto your browser. To do so you you have to go to our tool page and install our bookmarklet on your browser by following the instructions (it's super easy).
When you find content in a website that you want to add as a lecture or as supplemental material in one of your courses, click on the bookmark tool. A popup window will appear.
Then do the following:
1. At the bottom left side, navigate to the Courses tab,
2. Select the course you want to add the bookmark to
3. Click whether you want to add it as a lecture or as supplemental material
4. Click the Add to Schoox button.
That’s it. The content now will appear in your course.
