Creating a Poll

In Schoox, you can track your employees' feedback or opinions by creating polls. Polls are anonymous but will give you an overall view of what your Academy Members believe on the topics you ask them to respond to!

You have the option to create Standalone Polls or to connect your Poll with a specific Course, Curriculum, Group, ILT (In-Class Training or Live Session). So, the available types of polls are the following ones:

  • Standalone Poll
  • Course Poll
  • Curriculum Poll
  • Group Poll
  • In-Class Training Poll
  • Live Session Poll

Tip! Do I have to follow a different path in order to create each one of these polls?

In order to create one of the non-event Polls, that is Standalone, Course, Curriculum, Group polls, click on the Admin tab (from your academy’s navigation bar), and then select Polls

You can then select either "Standalone Poll", "Course Poll", "Curriculum Poll" or "Group Poll". Acad_polls.png

To set up a poll for your In-class Training/ Live session, click on the Manage Events option from your administration panel, find the event in question, click on the Manage Event option right under the Event title, and hit Manage Polls.event_polls.png

You are now ready to build your Poll! From now on, the process is almost the same regardless of the Poll-type.

1. Create a Poll

The first steps are to give the Poll a title and a description.

Then you can decide whether or not the members (or just admins) will be able to view the Poll results, by toggling the Users can view the poll results checkbox.

Tips!

  • Having the Users can view the poll results checked will only allow users to see the results of the close-ended questions, and not the open-ended ones.
  • You can also set up an expiration date for the Poll when it comes to Standalone/ Group /Event polls.
  • Only for Event Polls you have the option to define if the event poll is required for the event certificate.Screenshot_62.png

The next step is to add some questions to your Poll. You can add as many questions as you'd like by clicking on the Add Question button.

You have the option to combine the following different types of questions:

  • closed-ended questions, having all of the possible answers predefined.
  • open-ended questions, where users are able to submit their own answers, instead of having to choose between predefined answers.

By clicking the add answer plus sign, you can add as many answers as you'd like.

Tips!

  • Each closed-ended question needs to have at least two answers.
  • You can delete an answer by clicking its "x" button
  • You can reorder the answers' sequence with a simple drag and drop.

Click on the blue Save button when finished.

Please note that by default, your poll is in private mode. To make it visible to your employees you have to publish it by flipping the Public toggle to "Yes".

1.1 Standalone Polls

If you publish a Standalone Poll, this becomes visible to all the employees and they can access it from their Home page, under the Polls section, by clicking Go to all Standalone Polls.

However, you have the option to make your Standalone Poll available only to specific Employees. To do so, mark your Poll as private, go to the Manage Polls tab (under Polls), find the Poll in question, and click on the Assign option.

You will be given the option to assign the poll either to specific employees (Individual Assignment) or to a group of employees based on their job and location (Advanced Assignment).
