“Back to Course” Button Behavior in On-the-Job Training

When accessing an On-the-Job Training (OJT) activity within a course, you might notice that the “Back to Course” button is sometimes not visible. This behavior depends on your role and the permissions you have in the system.

Why This Happens

If you are an admin or a user with managerial permissions, this is expected behavior. The system hides the “Back to course” button for users who have access to manage the course. Instead, you will see a link under the course title that you can use to navigate back to the course steps.

In this case, the “Back to Course” button is not displayed, as it would duplicate the functionality already provided by the link under the course title, which you can use to return to the course.

When the “Back to course” Button Is Visible

The “Back to course” button will appear only if the “Manage Course” button is not visible. In other words:

  • Learners who do not have course management permissions will see the “Back to course” button.

  • Admins or managers with permissions to manage the course will not see this button and can instead use the link located below the course title to navigate back.
