You have the option to add supplemental material to your Course and attach it to specific course lectures. The supplemental material can be a website, a file uploaded via your computer, or material uploaded directly from the Content Library.
Supplemental materials are meant as a supplement, not to replace lectures. When uploading your own files, these are usually PDF's, text documents, PowerPoints, or images. SCORM files are not supported as supplemental materials.
To add supplemental material to a Course, find the the Course and click Manage Course. Once you are on the Manage Course page, click on Lectures on the left panel and then select Supplemental Material.
On this page, you are given the option to select which type of supplemental material you want to add to your Course. Select one of the blue buttons, based on your preferences.
Once you select the type of material you want to add, a pop-up window will open and it will show you a list of the lectures included in the Course, including a First Lecture option. Select this if you want your supplemental material to be attached to a specific lecture and click Next once finished.
Once you click Next, you will be redirected to add the URL, upload the file, or to select the file from your Content Library. Once you are finished click Save.
You will now be able to see it under the Supplemental Material tab. You still have the ability to edit, delete, or to move it to another lecture within the Course.
Users will have the option to access all supplemental material under the Supplemental Material tab. They will be able to search for supplemental material, based on the lecture the material is attached to. You can also use the language filter, sort supplemental material alphabetically, or sort by date to limit your results.
Please note: supplemental materials that are connected to a lecture will also show in the Lecture Tab and under the lecture you added.
