Ability for performance profiles to run one time only

Release date 4 November

Performance Review Profiles can now run one time only. Admins can set up a review for a single past, current, or future cycle and stop there, with no extra cycle created and no need to switch the profile off, so learners and managers keep access to the reviews they have already completed.

One-Time Review Cycles

Leave Recurring cycle every year unselected and the profile creates your selected periods once, for one full cycle, and then stops. Keep it selected and the same pattern repeats in each following cycle.

The Starting Period Anchors Your Cycle

The Starting Period you choose now defines the review cycle, which begins at the Starting Period and ends right before it comes around again. Selected periods that appear before the Starting Period in the grid run once, later in the same cycle, and periods you leave unselected are skipped.

A Clearer Create Profile Page

On the Create Profile page, an information icon beside Recurring cycle every year explains what happens when the checkbox is unselected. The Starting Period is also selected and locked in the period grid, so the anchor of your cycle stays clear while you choose periods.

Example

A monthly profile with a Starting Period of February 2025, January, February, and June through December selected, and Recurring cycle every year unselected, creates February 2025, June through December 2025, and January 2026, then stops. February 2026 is not created because it begins the next cycle.

Good to Know

  • This applies to standard performance review profiles. Periodic reviews based on hiring date are not affected.
  • The Recurring cycle every year checkbox stays where it is, and the behavior of recurring profiles is unchanged.
  • Review cycles a profile has already created are not deleted or changed.
  • It works with the Monthly, Every 2 Months, Quarter, Every 4 Months, Semi-annually, and Annually period types.
