Connecting Metrics to On the Job Training

After you, as an Admin, have set up the metrics and metric groups in your academy, you can start pairing them. This article will focus on connecting metrics to On-the-Job Training.

Admins and those with the relevant permissions can associate metrics with specific tasks in On-the-Job Trainings. When these reflect the associated metrics, the score on each task can then point to the kind of jobs in which individuals may excel.

Advanced On the Job Training Settings

Note that if you want the assessments that your users will receive to be reflected on the metrics' dashboards, the type of assessment must be set to score under the Advanced Settings.

Evaluation Process

The evaluation process for the users who complete these tasks works as usual, but the score that you give to your users for a task assessment with a connected metrics will also be saved as a metric assessment.

Ιn order to get assessments for metrics by On the Job Training, the metrics will have to be associated with specific tasks. This counts even in the case that the On the Job Training is part of a course.

If the metrics are associated with the course, but not with the On the Job Training tasks, then there will not be any relevant metric ratings. When the metrics are associated with specific tasks, the score set by the Admin or Manager for that specific task will be saved as a rating (manual assessment) for all metrics connected to the task (provided that the On the Job Training type of assessment is set to Score under the Academy Settings).

In the case of the same metric being associated with different tasks of the same On the Job Training, each task score is considered as a single manual assessment. An average will be calculated for the metric assessment.

Please note that the task does not need to be signed off for the metric assessment to be logged.

Reporting on these assessments

Once a user has been given a score for an OJT task that is connected with metrics, this score will also be saved as a manual metric assessment for these metrics. The actor for the metrics assessments will be the same manager who has given the OJT assessment.

As these assessments are saved as manual metrics assessments, the7 will be included in the score calculations under the Combined and From Managers tabs on the Metrics Dashboards.

You can read more on how to track your users' metric scores here: Tracking Assessments by Employee, Job, and Skills

Moreover, when an Admin or the Manager that assessed the user performs a manual assessment, they will be able to see this assessment below the connected metrics, along with the actor and the OJT it came from.
