To keep their learning content fresh and up-to-date, content providers regularly retire outdated courses. Schoox ensures these updates are applied promptly in the Schoox Marketplace, keeping courses in your academy aligned with the latest versions.
Upcoming Course Retirements
When a course is scheduled for retirement, the Upcoming Retirement Date will be displayed under the course title. Additionally, you can view upcoming retirements and content updates at: Schoox Marketplace Updates.
Replacement Courses
For Traliant content, replacement courses for version updates are automatically added to the relevant academies to ensure that no replacements are missed. If you would like users’ completion data to be transferred from the retired courses to the new ones, please reach out to our Support team. They will assist you in coordinating with our Development team to complete the required actions.
Admin Actions for Course Retirements
When courses are retired, admins may need to take the following actions:
- Assign new courses: Ensure users are enrolled in the replacement courses.
-
Update curricula: Replace retired courses in curricula with the new versions.
- Maintain user progress: Pay attention to the "Maintain Progress" setting to ensure users' progress is tracked correctly. You can find more information on that under: Managing Progress When Adding New Courses to a Curriculum.
Important: Retired Courses and Reporting
Retired courses are not automatically removed from your academy, allowing you to access historical reporting data.
Scheduled Notifications
To stay informed about course changes, admins can set up two useful notifications in the academy:
- Notification about upcoming course retirement.
- Notification about course retirement.
Notes:
- For admins to receive notifications about the retirement of externally purchased courses, at least one user must be enrolled in the course.
- The retirement date is available as an additional field in the Courses Info Report within the Report Builder.
