The “On Time Completion” metric tracks how many users are still within their assigned due dates for completing the onboarding profile. It reflects timeliness relative to deadlines—not content completion progress.
Here’s how to interpret the data:
100% On Time Completion means that all assigned users are still within their due dates and none have missed a deadline.
Even if a user’s individual completion percentage is 0%, they are still considered “on time” as long as their due date has not yet passed.
Activity-Based Onboarding Profiles
Activity-based onboarding profiles don’t use due dates at all — each training level is assigned as soon as the learner completes the one before it, with no deadline attached to any of them. Because “On Time Completion” is calculated from due dates, it isn’t a meaningful measure for these profiles: since there’s no due date to miss, a learner’s progress in an activity-based profile is never counted as overdue, and the delay/overdue percentage for these learners stays at 0%, regardless of how long a course has been assigned.
The onboarding dashboard uses the same overview layout for every profile, so it still shows a “Current Day” label at the top of an activity-based profile even though no due date applies to it — this is expected, and doesn’t mean the profile has a deadline.
If a learner’s status in an activity-based profile still appears using the same visual indicator shown elsewhere for an overdue status, this does not mean they’ve missed a deadline — since there is no due date in an activity-based flow, this indicator should be read only as “not yet completed,” not as overdue.
Recommended Guidance
To gain a full understanding of your team’s onboarding status, it’s helpful to view both metrics together:
Use “On Time Completion” to monitor compliance with deadlines.
Use individual or overall “Training Completion” to assess actual completion of assigned onboarding activities.
By combining these insights, you can easily identify who is progressing through their onboarding materials and who might need additional support to complete their assignments on time.
In Summary
The “On Time Completion” metric focuses on whether users are meeting their due dates, while training completion percentages reflect how much of the onboarding content has been completed. Together, these data points provide a complete picture of both timeliness and progress, helping you effectively track onboarding performance across your team.
